I’m a UI/UX designer and, when nobody’s paying me to be one, a writer.

The design half of my life happens at OneOcean, where I work on research, interfaces and the Caspian Design System for the maritime industry. Before that it was Genora Infotech, and before that four formative years at Linktopus, an early-stage startup where I learned most of what I know by getting it wrong first. On the side I’m building Arkitype, a design system you can bend without opening Figma. All of that lives at srinidhibhat.com.

This site is the other half. I’ve been writing here since 2017 — long before I had a job title — under the pen name अvinash, the “Indestructible”. Poems in English, Hindi and Konkani. A murder mystery I serialised in three parts. Nine episodes of a podcast I never actually recorded. Arguments about Formula 1, the metaverse, and whatever else refused to leave me alone that week.

Why this place exists

The Dalai Lama once said, “If you feel you’re too small to make a difference, think about a mosquito in a room.” I’ve always taken that seriously. Change gets started by anyone and anything, much like the butterfly effect. This is where I start mine.

When I’m not doing either

Reading, music, sitcoms I’ve seen four times, and eating my way through whatever cuisine I haven’t tried yet. Somewhere in the long-term plans there’s an animal shelter with my name on it.
